Terrace Hill is the Iowa Governor's Residence and a National Historic Landmark. Terrace Hill was built in 1869 by B.F. Allen and purchased by F.M. Hubbell in 1884. Since 1976, Terrace Hill has been home to Iowa's Governor and family. Public tours are available at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m.,12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. from March to December. Terrace Hill is closed in January and February and on major holidays.
