Recognizing and inspiring breakthrough achievements in the fight to end hunger.
The World Food Prize is the foremost international award recognizing individuals who have advanced human development by increasing the quality, quantity, or availability of food in the world. Founded by Nobel Peace Prize winner Dr. Norman Borlaug, the organization annually awards its prize at the Iowa State Capitol; it also hosts the Borlaug Dialogue international symposium on hunger and food security, the grassroots Iowa Hunger Summit, and a wide array of youth education programs to expose students to careers in science and agriculture. The World Food Prize Hall of Laureates, a museum and education center, is open to the public Tuesday and Saturday mornings. Check www.worldfoodprize.org/hall for visiting hours as they may change.
